Scassero to Speak on Use of Drones in Nursery Production

On Wednesday, June 29, University of Maryland Unmanned Aircraft Systems Test Site Director Matt Scassero will share insights on when and how drones can be used for nursery production and landscape operations.

Scassero will lead an interactive session, “Drones in Nursery Production – Futuristic or Realistic?” while flying an unmanned aircraft on the grounds of the Milkhouse Brewery at Stillpoint Farm in Mt. Airy, Md. He will cover current rules and regulations, as well as go over how drones physically work. He will then dive into how drones are being used in the industry today and how they could tie into everyday operations in the field of nursery production.

The event, “Hops and Drones,” is hosted by the Maryland Nursery Landscape and Greenhouse Association.
