Ryan Henderson supports the UAS Test Site in ground and flight operations in accordance with university and FAA research requirements. He specializes in both rotary and fixed wing aircraft. Additional expertise include mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, piloting, resource management, maintenance, and safety. Henderson also serves as pilot-in-command and instructor pilot, providing academic and in-flight instruction to student UAS operators.
Prior to joining the UAS Test Site, he worked with Sky Point Drones, where he won the 2014 Madcap Farm Search and Rescue Challenge. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2000 with a B.S. in consumer sciences from and holds an FCC amateur radio operator license.
